About our digital library

Named after a pioneer of Brazilian ethnography and linguistics, the Curt Nimuendaju Digital Library is a project to create an online compilation of hard-to-find books and articles on indigenous South American languages. Volunteers are welcome to contribute relevant materials and suggestions.

Some useful features:

  • Each page/entry's URL is a permanent link and can be used for bibliographic references in electronic publications.
  • Comments on each entry. Since readers can add comments to each entry (including short reviews of a book or an article, information on alternative online versions, etc.), the page can be a self-contained "mini-report" on a specific bibliographic item.
  • "Wishlists." Users can place adds requesting specific books or articles.
